The Health Information Technology and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act), signed by President Obama in February 2009 as part of the economic stimulus package, contained many changes to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ( HIPAA).
In the near future, you will receive updated Midlands Choice business associate agreements that need to be returned to us before February 17, 2010. The updated agreements incorporate provisions of the HITECH Act as required by the 2009 legislation.
