Mercy Medical Center-West Lakes is on target to open later this fall in West Des Moines, Ia., as a replacement hospital for Mercy Capitol.
The five-story, 231,000-square-foot facility is located at 1601 60th Street in West Des Moines (just south of University Avenue). Although it will be licensed for 146 inpatient beds, Mercy West Lakes will open initially with 82 beds and offer birthing services, surgery, a Level IV Emergency Department, a cath lab, diagnostic and ancillary services and more.
Mercy Capitol will stop seeing patients when Mercy-West Lakes opens. Payers who receive the monthly provider file will receive this information on the September file.
