Beginning in April, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is rejecting Medicare claims from Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) hospitals that are submitted without Present on Admission (POA) Indicators.
Payer Relations account managers recently sent surveys to our payer partners to help us determine whether your organizations will also require POA indicators on Midlands Choice claims and, if so, when. We appreciate prompt responses to the survey.
Once we have determined requirements, we will communicate them to network providers to help avoid disruptions in claim processing.
