CIGNA Preventive Care Payment Policy Changes

Recent News

CIGNA has changed how it administers preventive care claims.  The changes do not affect fee schedules.

Previously, if services were not included on CIGNA's "covered preventive" list, they may still have been paid at the preventive care benefit level when submitted with a preventive care claim. Now, regardless of whether submitted separately or with a preventive care claim, services not on the preventive care list will be considered under the patient’s available non-preventive/routine care coverage.

Additional information at the patient/plan level about eligibility and benefits is available on the secure CIGNA for Health Care Professionals website.
