With implementation of ICD-10-CM/PCS codes in 2013, more than 141,000 codes will replace the 17,000 ICD-9-CM codes currently in use.
AAPC, a national organization that trains and credentials medical coding professionals, has published an online tool designed to be of use to providers preparing for this significant shift in healthcare reporting methodology. The Code Translator allows users to compare codes from the ICD-9 and ICD-10 code sets.
