An office move or address change can be disruptive enough. But if you forget or delay telling us when your organization adds or changes addresses or TINs, you risk:
- claim payment delays
- provider directory listings
- claims being repriced as "non-par" because the address on your claims doesn't match the address loaded in our provider database.
Payment errors caused by mis-matches between information on claim forms and records in our database cause delays that can take two or three billing cycles to get corrected.
Notify us of these changes two weeks before they are effective. Using our online Demographic Update Form for location and TIN changes is highly recommended. Not only is the online form easy to use, you will know that you have submitted all the necessary information and you will receive written confirmation.
It is also necessary to let us know when practitioners change their names, become certified for additional specialties, or acquire new degrees. To update providers' names, degrees or specialties, e-mail credentialing.
