OTC Reimbursement Requirements Changing

Beginning January 1, 2011, a prescription will be required for over-the-counter drugs to qualify for spending account reimbursement.

Health care professionals who see patients with a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) may be asked to provide a prescription for over-the-counter medicines, other than insulin and diabetic supplies, they are advising that patient to take.
