August and September are busy months for groups moving to new payers. These are especially important months for verifying that patients are presenting current cards so that delays can be avoided in processing claims.
Groups with 200 or more members that recently have changed from one Midlands Choice payer to another include Winneshiek Medical Center, Decorah, IA, and Hornady Manufacturing, Grand Island, NE. Effective July 1, 2009, Winneshiek moved from MMSI, Inc., to Principal. Hornady Manufacturing's move from The Benefit Group to Meritain Health was effective August 1, 2009.
