For network providers whose Midlands Choice claim volume doesn't justify submitting these claims through an EDI vendor, beginning in 2010 we will have online claim entry functionality on our website.
Online claim entry has many of the advantages of EDI, without the cost. Unlike paper claims, the time between entering a claim on our website and it being repriced is a matter of hours, not days. And because the online claim includes edits that help prevent claims from being submitted without group names, group numbers, payer names or provider NPIs, the chances of your claims being pended or rejected are reduced.
The screen for online claim entry has the same fields and layout as a CMS 1500 (professional) paper claim, which minimizes the need for staff training.
