Midlands Choice recently became aware of a credentialing standard that has an effect on the manner in which physical, occupational and speech therapists and audiologists are added to the Midlands Choice network.  Midlands Choice will credential the individual practitioners that provide clinical services in group practice settings and free-standing clinics even if the individual practitioners are not listed in the organization’s provider directory or do not contract directly with the organization.

Starting June 1, 2013 the Audiology-Therapist Add/Term form will no longer be accepted and all new providers will be required to complete an application that will be processed prior to their network activation.  Claims received on June 1 or after for new providers that have not completed the application process will be considered as non-participating claims.

Midlands Choice is in the process of fully credentialing the audiologists and therapists who are currently in the database, but have not been credentialed.  A smaller, revised application will be sent to these providers and active network participation will be maintained through this process.  It is estimated that the process to recredential all audiologists and therapists will be completed over the next 18 months.

New application requests and termination notifications may be completed by going to the "For Healthcare Providers" section on www.midlandschoice.com.  If you need assistance or would like to verify the current status of your providers, contact the Midlands Choice customer service department at (800) 605-8259.
