Cigna is upgrading their interactive voice response (IVR) automated telephone system.  The new system will be launched starting in July, 2012.  When calling a Cigna customer service number or the number on a patient’s ID card, the following information will be required:

  • Patient’s Cigna ID
  • Patient’s date of birth
  • Health care professional’s tax ID

If any of the three items is not entered, or only partial information is entered, the caller will be asked to call back with this information.  If the patient’s ID does not contain nine digits and begins with a “U,” please call the Customer Service number on the patient’s ID card.
