Last  year, Midlands Choice formed an ICD-10 project team to oversee the transition to ICD-10.  The team’s top priority is to ensure that Midlands Choice will be compliant in accepting, processing, and transmitting ICD-10 diagnosis and inpatient procedure codes by the October 1, 2014 deadline.  As part of the project, an implementation timeline has been created that highlights major milestones that will be accomplished.

Some of the milestones include:

  • By December 1, 2013, we will communicate Midlands Choice ICD-10 readiness as well as the readiness of our payers to our network providers.
  • During January 2014, we will conduct an initial provider readiness survey.  A follow-up survey will be sent during June 2014.
  • Our current implementation timeline will allow us to begin testing the transmission of both inbound and outbound ICD-10 codes by April, 2014.

Midlands Choice is committed to making the implementation of ICD-10 codes as seamless as possible, with no disruption of business processes.
