Midlands Choice is following all available communications and updates regarding the cybersecurity incident at Change Healthcare. Due to Change Healthcare’s large network of owned and affiliated businesses, this incident is significantly disrupting the exchange of information and claims across health plans, providers, and trading partners nationwide.
While there is no identified security risk to Midlands Choice’s systems, we are monitoring the impact to our operations. We are in regular communications with our partners that rely on a connection through a Change Healthcare company and have verified those connections have been disabled until the Change Healthcare outage is over and there is assurance of no further security risk with a reconnection.
Midlands Choice is able to receive claims submitted electronically through clearinghouses that transmit through Availity using routing number 47080. There is no guarantee that the payer will be able to receive the repriced claim if they rely on a connection through Change Healthcare. As the preferred provider network and not the payer or the utilization review and management organization, Midlands Choice is unable to assist with pre-certifications or prior authorizations.
